  • Hello? Is anyone there?

3 years, 5 months, & 6 days since my last Xanga post.

I was such a different person when I was last here ... and yet, with all the changes, I'm still the same. I'm happy to report that I did marry Matthew, on August 11, 2007. And we now have a son, Reagan, born this last April. These two boys are the loves of my life - I'm not whole without them.

I haven't done much writing since I left Xanga, bu I recently started a blog over on Blogger (sorry, Xanga ... I forgot about you!). If you're interested, come check me out. I'm not all that boring ... you might enjoy it.

  • The Dress

I bought my wedding dress! Now everything feels just that much closer ... I can't wait to be married. :)

Here's a couple of pictures that are very similar to my dress
(I don't have an 'official' on yet).

    It's something between this ... :
      TheDress2
    ... and this:
    TheDress1
The sash will be the same color green
    as my bridesmaids' dresses.

  • An Important Engagement

I just thought that I should alert you all that Matt finally proposed on December 17th. It's official ... I'm getting married!

    The Story:
We went out to dinner with my sister Anna and her boyfriend Kyle. Matt had been acting a little 'weird', and Anna and I were getting a little worried. I wasn't expecting anything to happen that night -- I thought he was going to wait until Christmas. Anna and I went to the little girl's room to discuss what was up, and we were sure that nothing was going to happen. We headed back to the table, but he wouldn't let me in to sit down. He asked me to step back, and he got down on one knee. He told me I'm his best friend, and asked me if I would be his wife. Of course, I said yes! When I reached down to give him a kiss, the whole restaurant applauded! It was an amazing moment! :)

  • Christmas at Concordia

This weekend was my last performance as a member of the Concordia University Singers. What better than to go out in the Christmas Spirit?!

Matt came up to see the concert this weekend, and we had a great time! Saturday was our "Christmas day" -- he came to the concert, then we went to Lincoln to see The Nativity Story. Plus, I shouldn't have, but I gave him his Christmas present early -- a 'promise' ring, with a Hebrew inscription reading "I am my beloved's and she is mine". He loved it, so I feel justified giving it to him early. :)

I'm beginning to count down the days until I'm moving home ... only 12 more days left here in the Concordia Bubble. I will truly miss this place, but I know that I'm doing the right thing. I've done some serious thinking and praying, and this is the best course for my life to take. I've made some great friends up here, and I plan to keep them. I'm just sad that I won't get to see them very often.

God is guiding me in my life, and I am learning to let Him lead. With God at the wheel, my life will never get off-track. :)
